LUCENA CITY — Police on Wednesday arrested three drug suspects, seized two illegal firearms and 95,000 pesos worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in Bacoor City in Cavite and Binangonan in Rizal province.
Calabarzon Police reported that anti-narcotics officers arrested Jess Vergel Joaquin and Richard Peña after the duo sold a pack of shabu at around 5:30 p.m. to an undercover cop at Barangay Molino 4 in Bacoor.
Investigators said the suspects recovered five packets of methamphetamine worth 88,400 pesos from a tactical bag containing a .45 caliber pistol loaded with seven bullets.
In Binangonan, police nabbed Jefferson Santuyo in another takeover operation around 9 p.m. in Barangay Darangan.
Authorities seized two packets of meth worth 6,800 pesos.
Police also found the suspect carrying a .45 caliber pistol loaded with two bullets.
The three suspects were arrested and charged with breaching the Dangerous Drugs Act 2002, firearms laws and the Election Gun Ban.
