Guwahati, Jan. 18 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Railway Protection Force (RPF) has launched a “massive awareness campaign to limit the spread of COVID-19”, an official statement said.
The campaign includes awareness campaigns to promote the wearing of masks, observance of social distancing and other precautionary measures at various stations and trains on NFR as well as the distribution of free masks among railway passengers, a he declared.
It aims to raise awareness among rail passengers on safety measures and precautions to be followed to limit the spread of the current pandemic, added the statement released by NFR Public Relations Manager Guneet Kaur.
Railway employees, passengers and stakeholders are informed about precautionary measures to be taken for the prevention of COVID-19, he said.
The frequency of announcements has been increased at stations regarding masking, hand sanitizing, social distancing and other precautionary measures, he said.
RPF officers and staff are using banners and loudspeakers to educate people at the railway premises, he added.
The NFR further urged commuters to follow their respective states’ COVID-19 related safety measures and instructions while traveling.
