NACD engages two companies in the battle for drug synthesis

The National Drug Control Authority (NACD), along with officials from the Chinese and Thai embassies, visited the facilities of two pharmaceutical companies in the western part of Ratanak Mondol district on November 26. of Battambang, in an apparent attempt to step up the fight against the manufacture of illegal drugs from legal chemicals.

Led by NACD Secretary General Meas Vyrith, the delegation visited the facilities of Hunan Er-Kang (Cambodia) Investment Co Ltd and Mekong Morokot Pharmaceutical Co Ltd in Treng commune, west of Ratanak Mondol.

“The visit aims to strengthen chemical synthesis control measures in accordance with the Drug Control Law and promote the effective participation of companies in the prevention of synthesis of legal substances into illegal drugs in Cambodia,” said the Minister. NACD without further details.

On the same day, 63 people were arrested by police in connection with 27 drug operations across the country.

According to the national police, 32 of the 63 people were involved in 16 separate drug trafficking cases, while the remaining 31 were accused of drug abuse. Police seized over 167g of methamphetamine.
