Police and anti-narcotics officers seized around 1 million pesos worth of suspected shabu from three suspects during a buyout in the town of Navotas on Thursday, January 13.

Director of the Northern Police District (NPD) Police Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. identified the arrested suspects as Noraima Esmail, 32; Mum. Clarisse Certeza, 32; and Erickson Verona, 36, all residents of Tondo, Manila.

The drug arrest was carried out by members of the Navotas City Police Station (CPS) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The suspects were arrested at 11:30 p.m. after selling shabu to undercover agents posing as buyers on Radial Road 10 at Barangay North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN) in Navotas City.

Police confiscated 158 grams of alleged shabu worth 1,074,400 pesos, redemption money, a transparent container, a gray body bag, a small notebook and a cell phone.

The alleged shabu was taken to the NPD Crime Laboratory office in Caloocan City for further analysis.

The suspects are now in the custody of Navotas CPS pending charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” police said.
