Social Beat – an independent digital marketing agency – recently launched a #DoNotBackSlide campaign on World Environment Day to remind us to correct our habits and raise awareness to keep our environment clean and healthy.
The idea of ââthe campaign was to encourage a sustainable lifestyle, especially in the context of the ongoing pandemic. Sadly, as the world teetered on COVID-19 and countries were stranded one by one last year, we saw the environment rebound. We have seen cleaner air, cleaner water and less noise pollution. As people were stuck in the middle of the concrete jungle, they again heard birds chirping and saw ducks swimming in the clean bodies of water.
As the world slowly heals, it is very easy to revert to old ways as they may seem familiar. But these actions have proven to be toxic to our environment. Through this social media campaign, we are asking people to stop and make a conscious choice to make the world a better place.
The #DoNotBackSlide social media campaign highlights the virulent relationship we have with nature with a call not to revert to our toxic habits. The post was portrayed through a video and 4 static posts which are featured on both Instagram and Facebook.
âWe chose the angle of toxic relationship with nature for our campaign because it is, we should try to move on. In life, we tend to go back to what is comfortable and familiar, even when the relationship is not good for our mental and physical well-being. Likewise, making the switch to a sustainable lifestyle seems scary and difficult because it seems unfamiliar. Through this campaign, we wanted to remind everyone that a happy environment can only be an environment that is not clouded by toxicity and that it is time for us to come together and say #DoNotBackSlide, âadded Panisa Shah, Creative Head, Social Beat.
When the challenge is to minimize environmental impact and give back to nature, Social Beat could not be more proud to roll out this initiative on World Environment Day. âAt a time when we know that the future of our planet depends on sustainability, we must each do our part to heal the world. We are happy that we were able to leverage the reach of digital media to spread the message, âsaid Vikas Chawla, co-founder of Social Beat.
