Johnny Depp Arrived Late to Shoot ‘Almost Every Movie’, Ex-Agent Says
DISCLAIMER: This live blog contains allegations of physical and sexual abuse that some readers may find distressing.
Amber Heard’s defense continues in the defamation lawsuit brought against her by her ex-husband Johnny Depp.
Heard is being sued by Depp for $50 million for suggesting he abused her in 2018 Washington Post editorial. Although she did not name him, he says her allegations have impacted his ability to work.
Testimonials were given by several former friends of Heard as well as by her sister, acting coach and makeup artist. They all testified to seeing his injuries or alleged altercations with Depp.
On Thursday, Depp’s longtime friend spoke of a series of jealousies in the actor, while his former agent said he romanticized drugs and constantly showed up late to sets that had impact on his career. The actor’s former business manager described his increasingly difficult financial situation and his “erratic behavior” related to drugs and alcohol. Actress and ex-Depp Ellen Barkin recalls he was drinking all the time and once threw a bottle of wine into a room during an argument.
Testimony resumes Monday.
New confirmed witness in Depp’s rebuttal
Court TV reports that Jennifer Howell will testify in Johnny Depp’s rebuttal case next week in a pre-recorded deposition video.
Ms Howell was mentioned during the testimony of Amber Heard’s sister, Whitney Henriquez.
She is the founder of the Art of Elysium and Ms. Henriquez left the penthouses of the Eastern Columbia Building to accompany her in 2015 and called her a “chosen sister”.
There are two accounts of why this was. Ms Henriquez says it was because Depp accused her of leaking stories to the press, but Ms Howell would have a different story – that it was because Ms Henriquez was fighting with Heard.
Ms Howell would also have a very different account of what has become known as the ‘staircase incident’ in the penthouses, as Ms Henriquez told her at the time.
